About Reading Success by 4th Grade

Reading Success by 4th Grade was launched in 2009 to engage the community around improving literacy for Springfield children. Reading Success advanced the cause of early literacy with many stakeholders—parents, families, early educators, schools, businesses and others— around the paramount importance of reading proficiency. Those efforts resulted in the work being recognized on a national level and we are so thankful to all who contributed to that success. But the work is not done. As the movement to raise readers in the region continues, The Irene & George Davis Foundation is building upon that legacy and work in new and exciting ways. Our deep commitment to early childhood and early literacy remains at the forefront.
