Calling all: Moms, Dads, Parents, Grandparents, Foster Parents, & Primary Caregivers of kids birth to 8 in every neighborhood in Springfield!

Defensores de la Alfabetización Familiar un llamado a: Madres, Padres, Parientes, Abuelitos, Padres Foster, Y Cuidadores Primarios de niños del nacimiento a 8 años en cada vecindario en Springfield!

Families and caregivers are the experts of their children. Creating a system of support for the caregivers in kids’ lives, we will learn and grow together, support each other, and engage our community together.

Familias y cuidadores primarios son los expertos de sus niños. Creando un sistema de apoyo para los cuidadores primarios en las vidas de los niños, vamos a aprender y crecer juntos, apoyarnos unos a los otros, y involucrar a nuestra comunidad juntos.

Family Literacy Advocates Receive:

  • A small stipend: 5 hours/month for May-August.
  • Great training and a learning network to rely on.
  • Spotlight in local and social digital media.
  • Small gifts for child and family at points throughout program.
  • Create change in our neighborhoods. 
  • Have input on strategies for public literacy spaces like story walks and book nooks.
  • Certificate of achievement at completion.

Time commitment is 4-10 hours a month. Our sessions (virtual/in-person) will focus on learning and growing together and engaging our community together. We will be flexible in our program, changing for health/COVID-19 as needed.
